Documents Accepted
For Novelty / Show Plates, We do not require any documentation unless it is something can could be used on the road.
In Order for your number plates to be considered road legal , we are required by law to see your documents. You are required to provide us a Proof Of Identity Document and a Proof Of Entitlement Document. Explore the list below to find out in detail what documents you can provide. The Proof Of Entitlement that you provide is legally not required to be in your name.
Proof Of Identity Documents include:
- Driving Licence ( UK or non-UK)
- Gas, Electricity, Water, Landline Phone, Council tax bill or rate bill in Northern Ireland( Issued within the last six months)
- Bank or building society statement ( Issued within the last six months)
- Passport ( UK or non- UK)
- National Identity card issued by the government of a state or a territory( Other then the United Kingdom)
- A Police warrant card
- An armed forces identity card
Proof Of Entitlement Documents Include:
The Proof Of Entitelement that you provide is legally not required to be in your name.
- Registration Certificate V5C or V5C(NI)
- New Keeper Supplement V5C/2 or V5C/2 (NI)
- Certificate of Entitlement V750 or V750(NI)
- Retention Document V778 (does not apply in Northern Ireland)
- Renewal reminder for a tax disc or SORN V11 or V11(NI)
- Temporary Registration Certificate V379 ( Does not apply in Northern Ireland)
- Number Plate Authorisation Certificate V948 with official DVLA, DVA or VOSA stamp
- A letter of authorisation from lease or hire companies, including fleet operators. The letter must quote the document reference number from the V5C or V5C(NI)
- Record of the insurer's name, reference and policy numbers (for repairs approved by an insurance company)
